RLM 79, Sandbraun was used as a topside color for Luftwaffe aircraft operating in the deserts of North Africa and in the Southern Mediterranean theaters of war. It was used alone, or with a mottled scheme, of typically RLM 80, Olivgrun (Olive Green). The undersides of these aircraft were typically painted using RLM 78 Hellblau (Light Blue).
